Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 24, 2026

Welcome to Kevlar Electric. By requesting, booking, or accepting our electrical services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service.

Scope of Work, Quotes, and Access

  • Quotes: Estimates and quotes are valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue.

  • Changes: Any changes, hidden defects, or extra work discovered during the project will require a written or verbal Change Order and may result in additional charges.

  • Access: The customer must provide our electricians with safe, clear, and unhindered access to the work area, electrical panels, and property.

Service Fees, Deposits, and Payments

  • Diagnostic Fee: We charge a standard diagnostic/service call fee. This fee covers the site visit and basic troubleshooting diagnostics, and it is due regardless of whether you choose to proceed with further repairs.

  • Deposits: We require a 50% deposit ("half down") on all projects before work begins and before materials are ordered.

  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

  • Late Fees: Past due invoices may accrue a late fee of 1.5% per month (or the maximum allowed by law) until paid in full.

  • Collections: The customer agrees to pay all legal and collection fees incurred by Kevlar Electric if forced to collect an unpaid balance.

Cancellations and Scheduling

  • Rescheduling: Please provide at least twenty-four (24) hours' notice if you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment.

  • Delays: Kevlar Electric is not liable for project delays caused by weather, material shortages, permit delays, or other events outside of our control.

Permits, Approvals, and Existing Conditions

  • Permits: Kevlar Electric will secure required electrical permits for the scope of work agreed upon. The customer is responsible for any municipal or association fees unless included in the quote.

  • Pre-existing Issues: Kevlar Electric is not responsible for repairing pre-existing electrical code violations or structural deficiencies discovered while performing the contracted work.

  • Cosmetic Damages: Electrical work often requires cutting drywall, plaster, or woodwork. Kevlar Electric is not responsible for patching, painting, or cosmetic repairs unless explicitly stated in the work order.

Limited Warranty

  • Craftsmanship: We provide a ten (10) year warranty on our craftsmanship from the date of service completion.

  • Products/Materials: We provide a one (1) year warranty on the products and materials installed by Kevlar Electric.

  • Exclusions: This warranty does not cover customer-supplied materials, normal wear and tear, abuse, negligence, or work modified by anyone other than Kevlar Electric.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kevlar Electric’s total liability for any claim, loss, or damage arising out of our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the customer for that specific service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (such as lost profits or power outages).

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
